Chunky Punch Needle

Punch needle embroidery is a traditional rug hooking technique that has taken the textile craft world by storm! The needle punching method results in beautifully textured finished pieces that can be turned into bags, clutches, cushion covers and more. This is a greatly satisfying craft that is both quick and easy, excellent for beginners!

In this workshop, you'll get to punch on a 25 x 30cm stretched monk's cloth with hand-dyed 100% organic cotton chunky yarn in a variety of colours. We will share design considerations when planning for punch needle art, how to prepare a frame and stretch monk's cloth, how to use the punch needle tool and get tips on how to create different effects. Draw inspiration from works of different artists, hand draw your designs onto fabric and punch away!

Duration per session : 3 hours
You will take home : An Oxford Punch Needle & Your finished punch needle piece

All materials and light refreshments will be provided.

This workshop is suitable for adults and children above 7 years old. All children 12 and below must be accompanied by a participating adult.
